This is a classroom you wouldn’t want to bunk! Paying an ode to the most glorious days of our lives, ‘The Classroom’, a restaurant that will make you relive the ‘back to school’ spirit.
The loud banter as we huddled in groups or the orderly arrangement of the morning assembly; the free-spirited run at the sound of lunch break or the thorough obedience to the eight periods of the day…those memories are the sweetest, aren’t they?
Spread over three floors plus terrace in an area of 12000sq ft, The Classroom has a carefully thought of design and ambiance that aims to make you nostalgic and happy!
Mischievous messages on the boards and walls including ‘FLAMES’ (remember?), and menu resembling pages from holiday assignments.
Promising an ultimate throwback, they’ve got everything covered from blackboards to dressing up our staff in school uniform! They have paid attention to details and recreated the nostalgia with elements like desks and chairs, mischievous messages on the boards and walls including ‘FLAMES’ (remember?), and menu resembling pages from holiday assignments. What’s more, there’s a games room too with carom, billiard, fuss ball and more.
What we’ve intentionally not replicated is the sloppy food from the canteen! Instead we have a diligent chef who has created a top of the class menu for the dining space we fondly call “Ramu Kaka ki Canteen”.
The menu covers delectable dishes from Indian cuisine to Asia, Italian and Continental. Some of his signature dishes include: Goan Chorizo Pao (house Pao Maska layered with Goan sour and tangy Pork Chorizo filing), Bhendi Bazaar Sheekh Paratha (Mutton Sheekh Kebab served with crispy Paratha, inspired from the street vendors Bhendi Bazaar in Mumbai), Sea Food Pad Thai Noodles (Soaked Rice vermicelli noodles stir-fried with Egg, Prawns, Calamari and River Sole), Secundrabadi Nalli Gosht (Slow cooked Lamb curry served with Kulcha), to name a few.
And when it comes to drinks, they’ve got nothing but the best! They serve the finest hand crafted, award-winning St. Martin’s Abbey beers straight from Belgium brewed at the restaurant under the supervision of our brew master is Andre P. LeBlanc from Belgium.
The names of the mocktails and cocktails have been thoughtfully worked out to get your attention. Assembly (Carribean Cream & Cranberry with Pineapple Flower), Attention (Sour Fruits with Pomegranate Alian), Mandh Buddhi (Thai Spices with Dehydrated Pineapple Juice), Rosy Mam (Pomegranate Seeds Rosemarry Sweet & Sour) are some of the non-alcoholic beverages while the list of cocktails includes The Detention (Vodka Mix with Cofee Liqueur and Irish Cream), Year Repeat (Vodka Mix with Apple Syrup and Peach Syrup Top up with Sparkling Wine), Supplement Sheet, Out of Syllabus (Tequila Triple Sec sweet & sour Paan Syrup House Brew), Stand Up on the Bench (Gin Mix with Sweet & sour Flavoured with Elder Flower).
The Classroom is about these silent musings, when we left school, but the school never really left us! Where you are right now, they aim to recreate the nostalgia of your classroom. If after a busy day at work, a reminiscing memory is ignited that makes you smile, consider our job is done at Classroom.
Visit them soon and open the bag of memories from childhood and create new ones.
